Create and Bloom Studios
We had the best time at Sarah’s branding shoot at Create and Bloom Studios, my photography studio in Midtown Sacramento. Sarah came to me with a plan—she was ready to launch her very own web design business. We took photos to capture her entrepreneurial spirit and this exciting time in her journey! We used the many spaces at Create and Bloom Studios to get a variety of photos that fit her brand. At Create and Bloom, there are different backdrops, spots with different lighting, a couch, and a bed set up to create diversity for your shoot. Sarah brought her dog for some adorable shots working with him nearby. She took advantage of all of the different spaces to create lots of content for her new business!
Should I Take Brand Photos?
Personal branding sessions are a powerful way to get in front of your dream clients confidently. Branded, professional photos show that you mean business and can help you show your ideal clients what you can offer them. My goal when taking brand photos is to capture your most authentic self. Branding shoots are more than just putting on a cute outfit, doing your hair, and getting your photo taken (This isn’t school picture day). We will discuss your brand, what concepts you want to create, and how your images can help to captivate your audience.
Tips for Branding Sessions
Here is some of my favorite advice for having a great brand session:
- Change your outfit as much as possible! You will get the most out of your branding session by having multiple outfits in one shoot so that you can have a variety of content to use and post for months to come.
- Bring lots of props! You can bring electronics (iPad, laptop, phone, etc.), mugs, pens, notebooks, even your dog if you want ;). It’s all about having options to switch up your photos.
- Have fun at your session! Let go and let yourself be your authentic self. The more real you can be, the more your potential clients can get to know you through your images.
- Have a vision in mind. Be intentional with your brand photos. Plan your session style in advance (Pinterest has lots of inspiration!). Think of how you will use each photo you take.
