Unique Location Ideas for San Francisco Engagements
Nick and Mia chose a super unique location for their San Francisco engagement photo session! They were a wonderful and bubbly couple, and they are so excited to start their life together as husband and wife! They wanted to visit an adventurous location for their engagement session, someplace unique and fun. We decided on Sutro Baths in San Francisco.
The Sutro Baths are a part of the Golden Gate recreation area and have an interesting history. In 1894, an entrepreneur named Adoph Sutro built this complex of public baths. He wanted to provide a swimming facility for San Franciscans to enjoy that used the power of the ocean. The baths were massive and could accommodate 10,000 visitors at a time! Ocean water filled the 7 swimming pools at high tide in just an hour.
Today, the ruins are accessible to the public. The location is a bit tricky to maneuver, though! If you visit Sutro Baths, watch your step or you might end up in the water! The views are so worth the hike, though. You can see the ocean in the background, and the industrial terrain makes this location an absolute gem.
Outfit Inspiration for Adventure Engagement Sessions
Nick and Mia’s outfits for their engagement session were just perfect for the location! Mia wore a flowy red dress that contrasted against the backdrop of the ocean and sky. Nick wore a flannel button-down, jeans, and sneakers. I always recommend that couples coordinate their colors instead of matching! Nick and Mia’s colors and textures are a great example of how to add some contrast in outfits.
