Symone and Kevin’s Grand Island Mansion wedding was one to remember! From all of the heartfelt moments during the ceremony to the ultimate dance party during the reception where nobody left the dance floor! Symone and Kevin are college sweethearts, and their love is undeniable. This was especially evident even at their “Legion of Honor Museum Engagement Session in San Francisco“. On top of it all, having their wedding at The Grand Island Mansion made it even all the more perfect! This venue is one of my all time favorites, which is why you’ll find it in my “Top 5 Aesthetic Northern California Wedding Venues“. From the gorgeous vintage setting and beautifully manicured lawns. You can’t go wrong in having your wedding at this stunning Northern California wedding venue.

Symone & Kevin’s Classic Black Tie Wedding in Northern California

During the ceremony, the beautiful bridal party entered to a song that always fills my heart with so much love – my husband and I’s wedding song! “Spend My Life With You” by Eric Bennet is such a beautiful song, and it was the perfect choice for Kevin and Symone’s bridal party entrance! There were so many beautiful words spoken, heartfelt prayers, and one of my favorite wedding traditions of jumping the broom!

If you’re unfamiliar with jumping the broom, it’s a tradition that goes back decades for African-American couples. It happens after the couple exchanges their vows and says their “I Do’s”. The couple then jumps over the broom together, signifying and in some cases, blessing their marriage. Some families even have brooms as family heirlooms, passed down and used for generations of weddings. The origin of jumping the broom is widely debated, but it’s still one of the most beautiful wedding traditions!
